Detox Juices for Clear and Beautiful Skin

Friday, July 31, 2015

Happy Friday!

I hope you are all doing well today!

I want to share with you guys an inspirational quote that I found on Pinterest and fits with today's Detox Juice post:" You are what you eat, So do not be FAST, CHEAP, EASY, or FAKE".

I am a big fan of juicing. You name it: green juice, orange juice, beet juice and detox juices. As long as it is fresh and packed with nutrients, I am all over it. I have done thorough research on why juicing is fantastic. So those who are skeptical to this whole "Juice Craze" and think it is over hyped, listen up. Juicing is just juice, but what makes it get the attention it is getting is that not too long ago, the market was made up of juices that were packed with preservatives, added sugar, and were not cold pressed. What cold pressed means is that the fruits and veggies are at a certain temperature so not to kill off the nutrients. Heat kills off certain nutrients in veggies and fruits. Therefore, cold-pressed drinks is a a way of juicing, where the nutrient content such as minerals and vitamins are higher, and one can reap the benefits from these raw produce. If you want more information on Juicing, specifically green juices check out my Green Juice post. Juicers are expensive, but honestly I bought mine for less than $30 and it is amazing. I have no trouble with it and it is the best purchase I have made! It is the brand Black & Decker and currently, its is cheaper than what I paid for.

Just a few of the benefits of detox juices are:

1. It flushes out toxins in the body
2. Lowers blood sugar
3. Aids digestive
4. Aids weight loss
5. Lowers cholesterol
6. Strengthens the immune system
5. Aids in repairing the skin, giving you beautiful and healthy Luminous skin
Huffington post has a great article  called The Real Reasons Juice Cleanses Can Get Your Health Back on Track talks all about how great detox drinks are for your healthy. Check it out, if you are interested.

Let us now get into my easy and favorite detox juice.

July Favorites

 Happy Thursday!

I thought I would start today's July Favorites post with an inspirational quote: "If you want Something you never had, You have to do something you have never done". As we enter into a brand new month, August, which is the  month where many people start their new school year. I want you guys to apply this outlook to your short term and long term goals, whether that be in school, career, relationship, or lifestyle. I chose this quote to share with you guys because it is a healthy, effective and motivational approach that is applicable to a vast amount of areas in one's life. So, now that we started this post on an uplifting note ( I hope) let us get into the beauty favorites.

Fruit Tart made with egg free crust

Wednesday, July 29, 2015

Happy Wednesday!

Today's recipe has to be my all-time favorite, FRUIT TART! I love fruit tart! I have baked many desserts, but this has to be the most delicious and easy to make. When I go to the bakery section at groceries and just any bakeries, in general, fruit tart is usually a very pricey dessert. So I was very happy with the way this recipe turned out and my family had very good things to say about it. So, I have no doubt that if you follow this recipe, it will be a success for you as well. Also, everyone always seems to be impressed when you make a fruit tart. So if you got a dinner party coming up or family coming over, read on because this recipe is a crowd pleaser. Also, check out my Mocha Cake Recipe.

Put on your apron, take notes and let us begin.

Berry Smoothie

Monday, July 27, 2015

I am a big fan of smoothies for many reasons.  Since I run 4 miles 5 days a week, I am very aware of how important it is to fuel up after a run! My biggest fear is that I am pushing my body too much and not consuming the proper or enough nutrients and healthy foods that are necessary for someone who regularly works out. Also, because I run outside I find that I sweat a lot more. Therefore, it is even more important to fuel up and be more health conscious. Now, if you are interested in workout tips and just the topic of staying fit and healthy, check out my Summer Running Tips and Lets Talk Fitness Series .  Also, check out my Green Juice Detox Recipe and Almond Smoothie Recipe.

Today's smoothie recipe is high in nutrients, delicious, easy, and a great refreshing pick me up after a workout.

Let us begin!

Vegan Meal: Edamame + Arugula Asian Salad

Saturday, July 25, 2015

Happy Saturday!

I am coming here today with a delicious Vegan meal. My sister has been on a vegan diet for about three months. Her diet consists of 85% + of vegetables. She has decreased her consumption of processed food. What is very important for those thinking about going on this diet is that "vegan" really means vegetarian. Therefore, one can eat bags of chips and crackers and are technically on a "vegan diet". For that, it is good keep in mind that going vegan is a great way to be more health conscious about what you are putting into your body.

Vegan diet consists of no animal product that includes no seafood (of course). It is a diet that requires self-discipline and an enjoyment for it. Those who go on this diet for weight loss, have difficulties maintaining this type diet later on. That is why one should do thorough research because I would consider this diet a type of lifestyle.

Let us begin with how to make this scrumptious and very nutritional meal:

Room Decor on a Budget

Sunday, July 19, 2015

Hello Ladies!
Now, If I have not professed my obsession and enjoyment for interior design, here it is! I love interior designing and I am currently working on getting my certificate. I think what I enjoy so much about designing a space is the process. I personally feel that when I organize and design my room or closet or any space it is never really an overnight change. I feel that your room, especially, represents your style and personality. So when the seasons change, I am that person that makes the initiative to change my room to fit better with the season and where I am at in my life. So enough rambling it is time to get into the subject of this post.
Hopefully, this year, I want to incorporate posts on home decor and organization tips. I always loved this topic but now that I have gained more education on it, I want spread the knowledge. First of all, a big part of designing a space is the budget side of it. Since I am a graduate student, I have to be creative with the way I style my room. I love going to TJmax, Marshalls, Home Goods, Big Lots and Target and looking for unique, affordable pieces that can make a difference in a room. I went shopping few months ago and bought accessories to fit with my bedding, which I purchased from Target and for under $40.

Outfit of the Day

Hello Beauties!

Today, I want to share how I styled my new Zara shoes that I purchased. As you know, it is the season of sales or at least for Zara. On their site, they have a wide variety of clothes discounted. From their selection, what caught my eyes were the shoes and and that is where I bought my white flats. And ladies, you will not believe how much I snagged the flats for.... $13.00!! Crazy, right?  A complete bargain! I am pleased to say the flats are very comfortable and very well made. The best part is that even though the flats are white, the material is durable enough to avoid getting them dirty easily. If you want to know how I styled these shoes, keep on reading:
