Fruit Tart made with Cheerios Crust

Breakfast is an essential meal to fuel up before the start of your day. I have mentioned more times than I can keep count, that mornings are busy for me. So smoothies, oatmeals, parfaits, and cereals are my top picks. Anything quick and delicious I will reach for.   I am sure everyone can relate to me when I say that cereal is a classic breakfast choice. In my house, there is always a box cherries, whether it is a box of multigrain cheerios, apple cinnamon cheerios, chocolate cheerios or honey nut cheerios. A bowl of cheerios with almond milk and fresh fruit is great for breakfast, mid-day snack, post workout snack or just because. If you are gluten intolerant, I have got some good news. Cheerios is so versatile, you can make a trail mix, no-bake bars, muddy buddies, crumbles, and no-bake crusts. Yes, all those can be made with cereal. Since its summer, I wanted to share a quick dessert: A Fruit Tart made with no bake cheerios crust. This dessert is perfect to serve at a pool party, barbecue gathering, brunch or for any occasion really. 

No Bake Fruit Tart


Custard: 
- 2 cups of Almond Milk ( you can use milk, coconut milk, or greek yogurt in the place of custard)
- 1/3 cup of sugar
- 3 egg yolks ( optional if you are vegan) 
- 1/3 cup of corn starch)
- half teaspoon of pure vanilla extract 

Instructions: 
In a saucepan, whisk all the ingredients together until lump-free. Then on medium heat stir the mixture with a wooden spoon constantly. Stir for 4-5 min or until the mixture thickens. Once thickened, pour in a late and cover it with wax paper and place in the fridge to set. 


Cheerios Crust: Preheat Oven 350 F

- 4 cups of multigrain cheerios or honey nut cheerios.
- 3/4 cup of brown sugar
-Half teaspoon of cinnamon
- 3/4 cup of melted butter( you can use coconut oil


No Bake Fruit Tart

Instructions:
- In a blender or food processor, place the cheerios and mix/pulse until finely crushed.
- In a bowl, add the melted butter, cinnamon, and sugar and mix well.
-  Place the mixture in a tart pan of your choice.
- Place the crust in the oven to bake for  6-9 min.
- Let the crust cool completely before topping with custard and fruits.
